Lahore (Daily Pakistan Online) On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, more than 18,000 citizens reached various hospitals due to overeating. Most patients suffer from intestinal infections, gastritis, ulcers and food poisoning.

 

According to details, in the two days of Eid, more than 18,000 patients with stomach ailments and diarrhea visited seven major hospitals in the city. According to the health department, 3,300 patients arrived at Mayo Hospital in Lahore, 3,000 at Jinnah Hospital, 2,900 at General Hospital, 2,600 at Services Hospital and 2,300 at Ganga Ram Hospital.

 

1800 patients have been reported in Shahdara Hospital, 1500 in Government Mian Mir Hospital, 1300 in Nawaz Sharif Hospital and 1200 in Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital.

 

According to the hospital administration, the main cause of diseases is quick cooking of sacrificial meat.

 

The health department had placed all the hospitals on high alert during the three days of Eid while instructions have also been issued to make the availability of doctors and other staff in emergencies possible.
